In May 2022, NoSUP Canada submitted a petition to the Government of Canada to strengthen the single-use plastic ban. The petition was open for signature from May to September 2022, and nearly 1,500 signatures were collected through the e-petition and physical signatures.

The petition to the Government of Canada is officially open for signature, and it covers the following:
- Strengthen regulatory definitions to include more harmful single-use plastic items and close loopholes that currently allow plastic items to be replaced with more durable problematic plastic;
- Remove the exemption that allows banned products to continue to be manufactured and exported;
- Implement a clear and staged action plan to eliminate single-use plastics by 2030; and
- Bring these proposed regulations into force six months after they are published

Last day to sign the e-4029 petition. NoSUP Canada was able to collect almost 1,500 signatures across 10 provinces and two territories.
